The Power of Words to TransformAll my life I have been fascinated with words, the energy that they carry, the power that they have to transform. The power to help us shape how we see the world, and the people around us. Whether we see it as an opportunity or is it a burden? Is it a problem or is it a chance to grow? For me, it didn't matter whether it was studying different languages... I was always really interested in and really good at Latin, believe it or not... And I loved it. I was always fascinated with it. And fascinated in the root of words and the power and the magic in the words you choose and how that shifts your life. For singing I remember taking diction classes, that's actually what I went to school for. I also studied many different languages.
Understanding and learning how to tell a story in a way that engaged people and help them... Help them maybe see their life or someone in their life in a more meaningful way. So with that, I thought I would pick a word that I use often and seems like more and more lately. That word is AMENABLE. I actually heard it in a movie once. It's one of my favorite movies called Brooklyn. And, the way that the actor said the word I was fascinated... "Amenable." I don't know that I've ever really used that word. So I looked it up and I love it. Amenable is like this video. It's a way that I try to be most of the time. None of us can stay in an amenable state all of the time. How boring would that be? But amenable is agreeable.. open.. lighthearted.. in agreement, and in alignment. Because it's tough to be in agreement if you're not aligned in some way! And so practice what it feels like today to be amenable. If someone offers you something new to eat at lunch, it's a different kind of special today. Be amenable. Be agreeable. "Yeah, I'll try that. Sure!" Open. Be ooen to unexpected things. You get a new offer to participate in a project that you hadn't anticipated. Now, I tend to often over-commit myself, because I want be involved and I want help and be of service. so certainly if your calendar's already full, you know, think about that. But, if someone offers you an opportunity to be amenable, and if you're in the grocery line or in the car and heavy traffic, be amenable. Just be and enjoy the moment. Have a beautiful day. Be amenable and all the best for Living Well... Today.Words. There is power in words. Speaking something into being begins with understanding. That understanding is what we're learning here, together. You can begin Living Well... Today.
